What is Shiatsu?

 

Shiatsu is a traditional japanese modality. It means “finger pressure” relating to the application of pressure to specific points along the body to stimulate the flow of QI, or energy.

Meridian Channels transport energy called Qi throughout the body.

Shiatsu combines rocking, joint mobilization, stretching, compression and acupressure to stimulate relaxation and shifts of tension and ease throughout the body. client’s feel both energized and relaxed after. It supports pain and stress relief in a gentle way.

Shiatsu is traditionally received with the client clothed in loose, comfortable clothing. It can also be incorporated into multi-modality sessions with the client draped.
